Honesty it's hard to tell if you would not any performance increase based on the specs alone. The Yamaha says it has Sabre DACs and 4K video processing, but do they implement it well?

Best thing to do would be to compare both units in your setup and see which you prefer. With the Outlaw trial period all you would be out is the shipping should you decide to return it.

The only thing I can tell you for sure is the 975 would be a lot easier on your back than the Yamaha.
