Getting "grounding" noise issue - 01/17/14 02:31 AM

I have mine connected to my RCA aux input of my model 975. I get a lot of noise(the sound does not change in volume). I have to turn my volume way up to hear any music from my cell phone; any suggestions or possible solutions for this?

Sounds like something may not be right here, but we have shipped thousands and have had no failures! Please check that the AUDIO IN cable is pushed all the way in or is not damaged. Also what OS is your cell phone?

Try plugging your cell phone headset output into the 3.5 mm jack you are using with the BTR. Turn the volume down on the phone and the 975. Play music with the phone and increase its volume to about half way. Then adjust the volume on the 975. If it functions normally the cable is good and the problem lies with the BTR or the phone. If the phone functions in Blue Tooth mode with other devices, the BTR is likely the issue.

Well, looks like it may not have been a solid connection or something. I tried reconnecting the aux in directly to the cell phone. It worked perfectly fine. I then reconnected it to the BTR and then it made the grounding noise. I turned the BTR sideways and the noise disappeared. I pushed in all connections (I think the 3.5 mm was not solidly connected) put it flat on my component shelf and voila no more noise. Thanks for the help!
