Has anyone used one yet ?
Will it pick up signal through a wall or is it line-of-sight ?

It should be line of sight for easy first time pairing, but after that you can be in another room ... line of sight is not necessary.

I have had one for about 2 weeks now and it works perfectly.
You can pair with as many phones as you want and after the first time you just have to connect with the BTR-100 on your phone's menu.

Why no digital out?

We were trying to keep the cost down while still offering all of the additional features that we do have : aptX and AAC compatibility as well as NFC. Also since most music on phones and tablets are compressed, we felt that adding the extra expense on this model was not in our product plan at this time.

Thanks for the answer. I had been wondering about that.

Re: review - 11/16/13 10:35 AM

I have been using mine for about 3 weeks and it works fine in most cases. I have noticed that when I walk around the signal becomes intermittent even though I am in the same room. Many times I have to lay the phone down to keep reception consistent. Is this normal?
Also, mine is in my vacation home. Should I unplug the unit when leaving or is there any harm in leaving it on?

No harm leaving it on.

Also, though I have tried walking a round with my iPhone and have not had any drop out issues, I would suggest that it depends on specific room interactions. However, if you don't get this when you put the phone down.. well then ya know.. maybe the phone/tablet, etc is trying to tell you something smile

Thanks Outlaw Nancy for the reply. I will leave it on. Concerning the intermittent signal when I walk around, it does not happen when I am blue toothed to my Bose speaker but does with the outlaw unit. Seems strange.

Re: review - Raider - 01/14/14 06:50 PM

Well, I have to say I am very disappointed in this product. I cannot listen to music without it intermittently dropping the signal about every two minutes. I cannot get through an entire song. It is not my phone as I blue tooth my phone to many devices: my car, Bose speaker, etc. I have the phone 2 feet from the BT and it still drops the signal. I might as well directly wire it.
I bought two for relatives this Christmas and hope they do not have the same problem. Do I have a bad unit?

Re: review - Raider - 01/14/14 08:16 PM

Sorry to hear that you are still having issues with your unit. We have sold thousands of these and haven't seen a bad one yet.

Have you tried to go in an do a "forget this device" and then re-pair from scratch? Please try that.

As I mentioned earlier, I have a iPhone 5s that has no issues with the BTR, and we have tested it in all versions going back to a 3GS. What version do you have and what iOS are you running ?

If my suggestion doesn't work - call me - 1-866-Outlaws ext 112 M-F 9:30 - 5:30 Eastern Time and we'll take care of this!

Re: review - Raider - 01/15/14 01:04 PM

Thanks for the reply.I use a 4S Iphone with IOS 6.13. As I said I use multiple blue tooth devices with no issues. I will try and reset the device. If this does not work, I will call.

Thanks again

Thanks Outlaw for replacing my BT 100. The new one works perfectly with no dropouts!

Re: review - Raider - 04/20/14 12:12 PM

I bought one of these back in Nov for my 84 year old mom.
She listens to Pandora radio most of the day, so when she is moving about in the house she left the phone plugged into a Bose sound dock ( In her bedroom , she has a Samsung Galaxy )

When I would call her cell, very seldom could she make it in time to answer .
So far the BTR-100 has saved me many miles of driving ( 57 miles one way ) because I could not get hold of her .

It is tuff learning older folks on new technology ,yet once we set it up for her she hasn't experienced any problems.
