LFE Channel Lowpass Question for Outlaw 975 - 11/02/14 03:09 PM

Hello all,

I am using an Outlaw 975 with great results, but have a question:

Is there a way to set the LFE Lowpass Frequency? It appears to be hard set at 120Hz, but I prefer a 200Hz LFE lowpass.

Thanks,

JSS

Individual speaker crossovers can be set in the speaker setup guidance on page 31 of the manual. It will only function if the speakers are set to small and a subwoofer is connected and designated.

I mean the LFE Lowpass. The LFE channel is a discrete channel and even if all speakers are set to 'large', the LFE channel will still play through the 'subwoofer', unless routed to play through the mains. Most AVRs have a way to set how high the LFE channel will playback in frequency, usually between 40 and 250Hz. Some films include content above 120Hz in the LFE channel (Thor, Transformers 2) and it is quite powerful when it isn't filtered out.

I was wondering where the 975 lowpasses the LFE, and if it could be adjusted. By ear, it sounds like around 120Hz, 24dB/octave.
