Goodbye 1050, hello 975 - 11/16/12 03:54 PM

Before I make the above move, I want to know if this is sound thinking. I'm still using an old 1050 and a 750 amplifier with it. I'd like to keep using my 750 for the time being and then, once I get a set of side wall speakers upgreade to a 7 channel amplifier. Will this work alright, using the 975 with the 750?

Thanks.

Trout, you can use this with the 750, you just dont hook up anything to the extra outputs.

Trout,

The answer is yes. It will work perfectly.

In my own living room I'm currently using the 990 with a 7500 (five channel). I plan to retire the 990 and replace it with the 975 because this new unit fits all of my needs.

So in my opinion you are good to go.

Trout, the 750 will serve you very well and when it is time to go to 7 channels you just need a two channel amp or two monoblocks for the extra channels. I have the 7500 and use 4 channels to feed my magnepan speakers. I will use the extra channel for a center channel eventually.

Thank You all! I will be getting this guy pretty soon. I just have to figure out how much my other Christmas gifts, for other people, are going to cost, before I get this gift for myself. smile
