I am interested in the 975 as it would consolidate many cables into HDMI instead of the miles of Component, and 5.1 cables from the Oppo to 990!

At the same time I'd be going from balanced to unbalanced.

All feeding into the trusty outlaw 7500 amp.

Obvious benefits but will it sound better?

Ordered a unit on the great B-stock sale!
I run the Velodyne SMS-1 to keep the subs behaved so I don't need room correction. SO glad they built this unit as so many features I don't need on a processor!
Im hoping the DAC's do make for a better sound over the 990!
Also, that my new Mac Mini will provide 5.1 for the Netflix my Oppo 93 cannot pass on. it only does 4.1!

While I will miss the direct imputs from the Oppo Analog output it will be nice to have HDMI and simplify things for my wife. As we stream video more and more I find im using the Oppo less and less even though BluRay is still far better.
