Anyone else have this issue? Headphones make clicking sound when I pause media on my Oppo BDP103. Seems to have patterns to it, but can't be sure. Volume knob makes it click every db increase or decrease (remember, media is paused, so it should be dead silent).
Oppo hooked up via HDMI.

Same results with my PS3 when I pause a CD. Again, hooked up to 975 via HDMI.

So I've ruled out the Oppo and the PS3 as culprits - I'd say it would have to be the 975. (Tried 2 different inputs, 2 different sources, 2 different HDMI cables. Brand new Sony stereo headphones.)

Driving me crazy, making the listening experience miserable.
Thanks

ISSUE #2 HEADPHONES RELATED:
Just discovered this too - when headphones are plugged in sound is still coming out of the front stereo speakers. What the heck? Anyone else notice this? Try plugging in a 1/4" stereo headset adapter with no headphones, crank up the volume and see if you hear anything. This is bad. Let me know gang. This is making me reconsider my purchase.

I've attempted to replicate this issue your having as far as audible interference during playback/pausing and I notice a slight click as the audio is halted due to the pause function. Generally I have always noticed a small audible click when pausing with any A/V receiver I've ever owned, but I am unable to replicate the clicking when adjusting the volume on my 975 in either direction when paused, or when no music is playing. I have tried it on all of my inputs in this scenario without hearing what your unfortunately struggling with.

As to sound coming out of the speakers while headphones are plugged in, I noticed this also, but the sound coming from the speakers is minuscule by comparison to what is coming from my headphones. Still I agree that this isn't quite normal, but my regular listening habits don't normally include a lot of headphone usage so I'm not as concerned about this. Please don't despair, your concerns are quite valid and as Peter mentioned I'm sure they will be able to assist in resolution of you problem very quickly rbpett! Good luck my friend!

I did the latest software update last month. I noticed the headset problem I had went away - the clicking sound is no longer an issue. However, there's still bleed-through coming through my speakers when a headset is plugged in. Not sure if I have some bad hardware or not.
