I'm trying to decide on a surge protector for my new 975 and 7125. Additionally I have: a 1200 watt sub amp; Sub EQ; DVD player; bluray; HTPC; LCD TV; satellite box.
Do you have any suggestions on what I should get? Been scouring monoprice and newegg but theres so many options and I don't know what to get.

Thanks!

I ordered these two surge protectors...one for just the pre/pro and amp and one for the rest of my components:

Hopefully they'll work on not degrade the quality or power.

For more robustness, I recommend SurgeX or Brick Wall. No MOV's to wear, as are in most power strips.
They are the same circuitry - one company licenses the design from the other one - don't remember which.

We tend to get lots of brown outs in our area so mine is actually on a UPS. Works really well for us. Nice and smooth and consistent.

The Surgex is pretty pricey! I would go that way but after dropping money on a 975/7125 I'm a little lean on funds. Will the models I chose work okay or is there a foreseable issue?

Yes they will work for the foreseeable future. Given the expense of the system you should look to save up for something that is active in its defense of your system vice being just a passive device. Lightning is a very real threat to our favorite hobby so it always pays to have protection.

Tidan, they'll work in the near to medium term. They most likely have MOV's in them and they degrade over time, depending on the number of voltage spikes they receive.
