Not a lot of traffic on this, so I figured I'd ask the 7125 owners the following:
1. in general, are you happy with their purchase?
2. how is the fit and finish?
3. if you owned an amp prior to the 7125, what was it, and how does it compare to the 7125?
4. if you also listened to the m200 or m2200, how does it compare to the 7125?

Thanks...

Yes, I am very happy with the 7125. Very nice sound.

The Amp looks great. Very nice styling, well built, tight fit.

Yes indeed. Most transparent amp I have had and I have had a bunch. Seems to have no sound of it's own. Build quality is excellent. Add in the honest Outlaw specs and you can't go wrong. Was also considering the ATI AT1807 at twice the price but now see no need. This amp drives NHT and Thiel speakers with no problem. H. Gallie

T-Bone,
1. Very happy w/ the 7125. shall i say estatic. Nothing like getting ATI w/ Outlaw Customer service and reputation .....
2. Hard to imagine better ....
3. Not personaly, but have heard system compaired to Rotel and Anthem w/ same speakers. I was disapointed w/ Anthem. Outlaw was nothing but butter. Rotel was .. well ... Rotel.
4. N/A

I'm still impressed w/ the 7125 and its abilty for dynamics on paradigm 60's.

Had it for 1 day and happy with it!!!!
Will give it an extended test over the next few days...

Some initial impressions:
(old amp was Carver AV-505 - 80wx5, 100x2 and upto 130w to any channel - all at 8 ohms)

1. Sounds a little "cleaner", though, with the kids asleep, I could only listen at a very low volume. But not a HUGE difference. I am actually amazed at how good the old Carver (5+ years??? - I am the 3rd owner) is.

2. Hiss is exactly the same as it was with the Carver - can hear up to 1.5 from speakers (does not go up with volume, almost until max vol).

3. Very slight hum - can be heard from the listening position - CD playing - press stop, can hear hum. Change to a different input - no hum - dead silent. Change to CD - hear the very slight hum - start playing CD - even at a very low volume - cannot hear the hum. (I need to clean up the wiring mess!!! It think it will go away then...).

4. The power cord - what were they thinking when they designed this unit - non-removable?????? Expected a heftier cord on an amp... the Carver had a thicker cord and several marks on it to prove that thicker cords can withstand more abuse.

5. Fit and finish is FANTASTIC - feels solid (and is quite heavy - I don't know HOW people carry the bigger amps) - I got a B-stock unit - checked it VERY carefully - can't find a thing on it. I think it is NEW!!!!

Minor update:

Sounds even better now, after playing for approx. 10 hours. This particular unit was boxed on Dec 20, 2005, so it sat for 10 months before it was shipped.

But one caveat here - day after I wrote "Sounds a little "cleaner"", my wife walks by and comments "why is the music sounding muffled - what changed?" (she didn't know - a black amp was swapped with another another black). Go figure that one...

Though, now, she agrees that the sound is "better".

BTW, re-arranged wires (what a MESS) - HUM is gone. Hiss is still there up to 1.5'...

Some comments about power - I noticed no difference between the two amps.

FYI - volume control on my pre/pro goes from 0 to 80.
10 - barely audible.
20 - night listening - no ambient noise.
30 - comfortable listening, very little other noise
40 - comfortable listening, people talking
50 - starts to get uncomfortable
60 - way too loud... can only keep it there for a few seconds.

Now, I am waiting for 2 y-cables to bi-amp the front speakers... (first y-cable was too thick - was causing metal to metal contact). Will let you know if bi-amping did anything...

I'm really happy with the sound of the 7125 - I had a carver TFM-15 100Watt/Channel stereo amp prior - it's now 15 yrs old and recently gave up the ghost. The Carver had a little bit of a "sound" and personality - it was very close, but wasn't clinicly correct across the entire frequency range; but it sounded very nice. I think the 7125 is a little more precise, some might say colder, but I think it just doesn't add or subtract anything, which is my preference for an amplifier anyway.

In any case it is a far better value than the Carver was. I recall paying about $400 in 1991 for the Carver, and for 5 more channels and 25 more watts per channel, 15 years later, I only paid another $500. That's progress!
