Fellow Outlaws - I am looking for suggestions on speaker stands for the center channel. Just purchased the Sony SXRD set and I am going to need a stand for it as the adjusters on my speaker are not long enough. I am also entertaining the building of a shelf out from the wall to the front of the TV so the speaker doesn't press too hard in the rear and warp the mirror. Your ideas are appreciated

I think that this stand is a very good option. Not sure how tall of a stand you are looking for. They do make two taller ones that are wood as opposed to metal. If you want taller they are an option, but the build quality on the metal one is much better.

Which SXRD do you have? I have the KDS-60A2000. I'm using a Bello stand that is a little wider than the TV. My Polk CS400i center channel speaker sits on the shelf directly below the TV. It is a fairly large center so the choice of TV stands was critical to me. The speaker sits on a small ramp I made that angles it upward towards the listeners. It actually sounds better this way than it did previously with the speaker set on top of the 6 year old Sony Projection the SXRD replaced. Before it sounded like the center channel was coming from above the screen. Now it sounds like it's coming directly from the screen.
