Just bought a pair of Magnepan MMG-W's for fronts, and had a question. The Magnepan's are rated at 5ohms, but their manual says for power they will accept "40-200 Watts @ 8ohms"

So I'm confused how I should configure my 1050. Should the switch be at the 4 ohm or 8 ohm position?

I'd probably switch the 1050 to 4 ohms because that is the load that the 1050's amps will be presented with.

Just curious:

How do they sound with the 1050? I've thought about investing in a pair since they've been out...

Also, if you don't mind, what kind of speakers were you using before?

Thanks!!!

I think they sound pretty darn good, but I'm not an expert in such things. They definitely can't generate the volume my HTD level 3 towers did, but they're definitely more accurate.

One thing to be warned about the MMG-W's, and that's vertical placement. Treble really gets cut off if your ears are above or below the speakers.

You may not be an expert, but that sentence tells me something I've been wondering about. It doesn't try to tell me how the speaker actually sounds but it does give me a good experiment if I do try out the speakers. Thanks laugh
