Just bought a used RR2150,wow what a nice unit, powering a pair of Klipsch Heresys and a Def tech super cube II. My Question is what is the best way to intergrate the sub with the Heresys? On my 990 there are test tones,I have been trying to match it by ear but there must be a better way.thanks in advance.

I'd suggest a calibration disc of some sort, as there are no internal test tones.

Hi...2nd post but you used the "K" word.

Integrating the sub starts with the cutoff point of the heresy's. I know the H's roll off about 63hz. You can cross over a sub with a standard slope (even 12db) at 50 hz and use the test disc from there. it will take a little fiddling, just make sure you match at normal listening volume. It will be easy to tell if the sub is encroaching on the h's response... IE: excessive midbass.

Try Xover at 60 hz. Should work pretty well if the Heresys roll off at 63 hz. It might leave a little hole but if you don't like it try the 80 hz xover. Everything above 80 hz will be fed to the Heresys and below that to the sub. That should play to their strengths without asking them to do something they can't. I cross my RF-82s over at 60 hz and love the way they sound.

A lot of it depends on the sub slope. At 6db per ocatave/50hz, there will be no hole. the 63 hz cutoff of the heresy isn't brickwall, it's more gradual than that. A Sub at 50hz would only be -6db or -12db down (for example) around 80hz. That, and the heresy slopes down so that 50hz is still there.

The 990 doesn't have a 50 hx Xover 40-200 hz in 20 hz increments. You get to choose 60 or 80. I would go with 80 and let the sub do all the heavy lifting. Why strain those old woofers when you don't have to and save the amp power for the Heresys.

Hello Gentlemen{or Ladies if present}I set the crossover at 80 on the RR2150 seems to work out pretty good, still fiddle with the volume control on the sub, sometimes I want a little more, sometimes a little less.
