I got my RR2150 back in February and this has happened twice. I was listening and turned the volume down using the remote. All output from the receiver stops, the function and enter buttons will glow dimly, and the protection relays will trip, cycle, and music will resume. I was not overdriving the receiver so I don't see why the relays would trip. Also, the receiver was not hot. Both times it happened I was turning the volume down via the remote. Any ideas?

My 2150 has not ever done this. The protection kicking in suggests something like a short (as with speaker cables that are touching), but the fact that it goes away makes this less likely. You might run it past Outlaw just to be sure.

Have you tested the outlet(s) which the Outlaw is connected to ? Is it going through a power bar before the wall ? If so, try removing it and see what happens then. Make sure there are no power spikes happening in your area or that there's nothing wrong with the lines in your house. Are you in an apt or a house, btw ?

Also, see if you can re-create the scenario on a regular basis, this would suggest perhaps a faulty contact, I'm thinking ?
