if my outlaw is doing all the video switching and i am running a single hdmi wire to my HDTV, do i still need to run component video to my tv or will the 997 send it through hdmi?

i do not think it would but just checking.
i have a hd camcorder and an older video game system that i want to use on my tv.

thanks

We don't have details yet, but I think that the Reon chip will probably provide analog to digital transcoding - in which case, all you'd need is a single HDMI cable.

for the 990, will a single component video cable to my hdtv be able to send any s-video, component, or composite video input source?

Yes, the 990 will transcode s-video and composite video to component video.
