I need some advice on the the 7100 amplifier...

I have a Home Theater and currenlty have Paradigm speakers:(2) 11seMk3 Front Speakers, (1) CC-300 Center and (2) Titan for my rears.

I currently am running them with a Harman-Kardon 225 unit that is rated at 45 Watts (I believe). Sound is much better on the Harman-Kardon than my old Pioneer, but I still have to turn the volume up a good bit to get the sound level I want out of my speakers.

I am seriously considering the Outlaw 950 pre/pro and am trying to decided what amplifier (755 or 7100) would be best to drive my speakers.

According to the Paradigm SPECS Nominal/Max Impedance for the 11seMk3 speakers are 6ohms/4ohms. Suitable Amplifier power range in the SPECS is 15-250 Watts with a Max Input Power of 180 Watts.

I like the thought of having 7 channels even though I don't need them right now, but I could always add the (2) M-200 Block Amps to get to 7 channels later on down the road.

I wanted to get some feedback from the people on this board to see what amplifier they think I should go with.

Thanks...

Me again... I also wanted to know what people think about the Rotel 1075 AMP vs. the Outlaw 7100 AMP.

About a year ago I decided to go with Rotel across the board.

But, being a family man, I want to also be cost conscious.

Thanks...

I've been driving Paradigm speakers with Outlaw amps for a number of years now and been very pleased. The 7100 is a good amp that would serve your needs quite nicely; the 755 would offer a bit more headroom but very likely would not provide any better sound than the 7100 under real-world conditions.

The Rotel amp is certainly a good amp, but I don't think it offers anything beyond what the Outlaw amps do. For what it's worth, a co-worker bought a Rotel RSP-1068 and RMB-1075 last week. My wife and I stopped by one weekend so I could help him getting things set up properly, and my wife preferred the sound of our Outlaw gear (Model 950 and a Model 750 amp).

Thanks for the response...

I am really going back and forth between the 755 and 7100... Thinks like, extra power if I ever change my speakers, extra power for the extra head room...

I am trying to stay under the $2,000 mark for the amp and pre/pro (Per my promise to my wife :-) ).

It looks like the cables from Outlaw are of good quality... It looks like you have used them from your pics... Do you like them...

If a 7100 or 755 is purchased used via a 3rd party, is the warranty still valid from Outlaw?

I have seen some used equipment on AudiogoN and was wondering...

Yes, the warranty on Outlaw gear is transferrable.
