Thinking about purchasing the 975 but one thing bothers me.

When pressing CH Level on the remote does it show on the TV OSD or just the front panel of the 975?

When pressing the Menu button the sound mutes?

Thanks

Any remote adjustments show only on the front panel window. There isn't any OSD on the 975.
Yes, the sound is muted when you're in the menu. Except for the test tones.

The manual speaks to the OSD menu being active only on the 975s HDMI output when an HDMI source component is connected and powered. So...there is an OSD but apparently doesn't display the volume level.

Yar. The volume level is only displayed on the front panel of the 975. The OSD is only used for setup stuffs.

XenonMan and Owl's_Warder: You are both correct. I think what Helson may be referring to is that status changes are not an on-screen-display overlay. The OSD will show the menu, which includes room calibration, video and audio adjustments, etc., and allow you to adjust settings all inside the menu, but will not show status changes via an overlay (volume, channel, etc. These are shown on the Model 975's front panel display).
